ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

November 2018

PAULDING COUNTY HOSPITAL TO PRESENT PROPOSED FITNESS STATION PROJECT:

The Village was approached by Randal Ruge, CEO of the Paulding County Hospital who proposed to construct a 10 station fitness trail through Riverside Park.  The Hospital would like to promote healthy lifestyles to the community and they have offered to pay for and install the fitness trail.  Mr. Ruge will be a visitor at Monday’s night council meeting to present the project to council.

REAL WASTE FINAL ONE YEAR EXTENSION DUE:

The final year extension of Real Waste agreement is coming up in March.  Last year in November I asked council to make a motion to extend Real Waste’s contract for another year.  This will be the final extension before the Village has to put out competitive bids in 2020.  Real Waste has been a pleasure to work with and there have been very few complaints concerning the company.  I would ask that council make a motion to extend at Monday night’s meeting so we can prepare an ordinance for the December meeting to authorize the Mayor to enter into an addendum to the agreement memorializing the one-year extension.

MAUMEE LANDING SUBDIVISION, PHASE 6, SURVEY OF PLAT – LOT 3, 8 & 28:

Oley McMichael has submitted a new plat of survey for three additional lots in the Maumee Landing Subdivision that are in the process of being sold.  I have attached a copy of that survey and have highlighted the lots that he wants to be accepted.  Lot 3 is a Villa lot and is zoned multi-family and Lots 8 and 28 are single family homes.  The planning commission has made a recommendation that council accepts the final plat of Phase 6 and an ordinance accepting these lots is on the agenda for Monday’s meeting.

UPDATE ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW LIFT STATION:

All construction is completed on the lift station project.  Telemetry which connects the new stations to our call out in case of shut down at the lift stations is being completed.  We should know by the December meeting the final cost of this project.

WATER PLANT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT:

New valves and connections for the filter building have been ordered and the contractor is waiting to install before the filter media can be changed.  It looks like this project will run right down to the December 31st deadline.

EHRHART PROPERTIES UPDATE:

Notice to the Ehrhart Properties on the substandard and hazardous 104 and 105 Mervin Street properties was signed for on September 27, 2018.  The properties are being cleaned up, the overgrown brush has been removed and the building that was falling down into the ravine at the 105 Mervin address has been taken down.  A letter requesting the removal of a junk vehicle in the rear yard of 104 Mervin was sent.
