Teams celebrating the land turning over ownership to the Ball Association
It’s been many years for the people of Antwerp to realize what they had tucked away behind the old school. Oh no, that’s not quite right. They do know. It’s why all of these people, board, families who came together, fighting to keep the fields that they played on when they were young.
Presentation of the land took place on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The MC of the event, Travis Lichty, announced to everyone how the Paulding County Commissioners and County Prosecutor, helped make the land available for only the cost of the back taxes. The ABA (Antwerp Ball Association) was able to secure funding for the debt and now owns the land. Nearly half of the taxes owed had been paid out of the general fund of the ABA. The loan taken out for the balance of the taxes needs your help to repay. Donations to make this transaction finalized can be made at the Antwerp Exchange Bank.
