Spring has sprung and so has the grass.  Please be advised that according to Village Ordinance no. 2013-30 between the months of April and October each year properties are to keep their lawns mowed and not allow the grass/weeds to get over 12 inches in height.  Once this happens a notice will be issued which give the owner 5 days after such notice to cut or destroy the noxious weeds or grass on the property.

If the owner or person having control of the property fails to comply with the notice, the Village can cause such weeds and grass to be cut.  The charge for cutting and destroying noxious weeds on any lot will be $50.00 except for a lot that is larger than one-half (1/2) acre.  The charge for these larger lots shall be $75.00 each time a lot has to be mowed by the Village.

Should the fee for the mowing of the property not be paid by the owner after they are invoiced, the Village can certify this cost to the Paulding County Auditor’s Office and file such costs on the real property taxes of the property owner.

Please note that a violation of this Ordinance can be punished by a fine not exceeding $500.00, a term of imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months, or both.  A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation continues or occurs.

So get out there and mow those yards, once it quits raining that is.
