ALERT: PHONE SCAM TARGETING GRANDPARENTS

It has been reported to the Antwerp Police Department that callers have been targeting older residents stating their grandchild has been incarcerated and that a fee has to be paid over the phone to get the grandchild out of jail.  The call could also target parents sayings that a child is incarcerated.  This is a scam.  Different areas of the country have shown up on the caller id, so please don’t fall for this call.  Contact the Antwerp Police Department at 419-258-2627 and report if you receive this type of call.  Whatever you do– do not give a caller debit or credit card information over the phone.
